Kyparissi combines sea views, gorges and clear-water beaches beneath the slopes of Chionovuni.
Kyparissi is a coastal village in Laconia beneath the slopes of Mount Chionovouni, made up of three parts: Paralia, Vrysi and Mitropoli. Gorges and cypress woods surround it, and the beaches of Mikri Ammos, Megali Ammos and Agia Kyriaki offer clear water for swimming. It is remote and quiet, so book accommodation ahead and bring cash. The settlement is built on a steep hillside above the sea, and its stone houses and narrow paths make it a good place to walk. The road to reach it is long and winding, which has helped preserve its peaceful character. It is a favourite among walkers and people who prefer a quiet holiday, and there are marked paths in the surrounding hills. Tavernas and rooms are limited, particularly outside summer, so plan ahead. Facilities such as cash machines and shops are few. Allow plenty of time for the drive and take care on the mountain roads, particularly at night or in bad weather.
The official source highlights three: Mikri Ammos, Megali Ammos and Agia Kyriaki.
Yes, the village and beaches are free to visit.
