Limeni is a small harbour in the Mani with tower houses overlooking the water.
Limeni is a tiny harbour in the Mani, surrounded by old stone tower houses along a sheltered inlet that once served the Mavromichalis family. The village is small and quiet, with a few tavernas and rooms to rent, and the water is calm and clear, making it a pleasant place for a swim from the rocks. The tower houses along the shore are among the best examples of Maniot architecture, and some have been restored. In the evening, when the light turns warm, the harbour is especially photogenic. Limeni is a short drive from Areopoli, which makes it an easy half-day trip, or a place to stop for lunch on the way to Vathia and Cape Tainaron. Entry to the sea is rocky, so water shoes are useful. Parking is limited near the harbour, and the road down is narrow, so drive carefully, particularly in summer.
Yes outside summer.
