Ermionida is the southeastern corner of Argolis, with the coastal towns of Kranidi, Ermioni, Porto Heli and Koilada.

The area is known for pine-covered coast, sailing and short boat links to the Saronic and Argolic islands. The Franchthi Cave holds evidence of human presence from the Palaeolithic period. Porto Heli has a large bay and Ermioni a charming small harbour. Spetses and Hydra are within easy reach by boat.

Ermionida occupies the south-eastern tip of the Argolid, a landscape of pine-covered peninsulas, sheltered bays and fishing villages. Porto Heli is the main resort, set on a wide bay that is popular with sailors, and boats cross from here to the island of Spetses. Ermioni, on its pine-clad peninsula of Bisti, has a more traditional feel, with a waterfront of tavernas and a path around the headland. Franchthi Cave, near Koilada, is one of the most important prehistoric sites in Greece, with evidence of human habitation for some thirty thousand years. The area is largely visited by Greeks, which gives it a relaxed, local character, and it is quieter outside July and August. Beaches are plentiful, and the sea is generally calm. Having a car makes it easier to move between coves and villages, but local boats and taxis fill some gaps.
