Porto Heli, Ermioni and a Day Trip to Spetses

This tour explores the south-eastern tip of the Argolid, with a boat trip to the island of Spetses. Begin in Ermioni, a small harbour town on a pine-covered peninsula, and take the coastal path around the Bisti headland, stopping for a swim. Continue to Porto Heli, a resort town on a wide, sheltered bay, with a waterfront of cafés and a marina. From Porto Heli, boats cross to Spetses in about twenty minutes, where you can walk around the old harbour, see the neoclassical mansions and visit the Bouboulina Museum, or swim at a nearby beach. Cars are limited on the island, so leave yours on the mainland. Check boat times in advance, as they vary by season and weather. The tour runs from May to October, when the sea is warm and services are frequent. Take sun protection and a swimsuit, and book restaurants in advance in July and August.
