Astros Beach is a long pebble and sand beach in North Kynouria, free to use.

Astros Beach is the long strip of pebbles and coarse sand that runs along the seafront of Paralio Astros, a few steps from cafés and tavernas. The water shelves gradually, which suits families, and the closeness of the town means you can eat or buy supplies without a car. Sun beds and umbrellas are available in parts of the beach in summer, while the quieter stretches toward the edges have no facilities, so bring shade if you go there. The sea is usually calm in the morning and can become choppy when the afternoon wind rises, so check the conditions before swimming with children. The beach is also a pleasant place to walk in spring and autumn, when it is almost empty. Astros combines well with a visit to the castle on the hill above, and with the historic site of the 1823 National Assembly in the town. Parking is easier early in the day.
