The Diros Caves are a series of caves with underground lakes explored by boat.

The Diros Caves, near Pyrgos Dirou, are a vast network of caves with underground lakes and rivers, explored on a short boat ride through illuminated passages. The Glyfada cave is the part that can be visited, and visitors glide on a small boat among stalactites and stalagmites in a mix of colours, before walking through a dry section. The caves have been inhabited since Neolithic times, and finds from the system are displayed in a small museum nearby. The temperature inside is cool, so bring a light jacket, even in summer. The tour lasts about thirty minutes in the cave, and a visit including the museum takes up to two hours. The caves are among the most visited attractions in the Peloponnese and can be crowded in July and August, so arrive early or book if possible. Check the official website for opening hours, which change by season, and for prices.
