Lake Ladon is an artificial lake near Tropaia in Gortynia, with a walking path and views of mountain scenery.

Lake Ladon is a reservoir formed by a dam on the Ladon river in western Arcadia, set among wooded hills and open farmland. It is a quiet place, far from the main tourist routes, and many visitors come for the landscape and the chance to see birds and wildlife. The shoreline changes with the seasons and the water level, so the appearance can differ noticeably between spring and late summer. There are paths and dirt tracks along the edge, but few facilities, so carry water and supplies with you. The drive to the lake passes through typical Arcadian scenery, and it combines well with Karytaina and Megalopolis or with the villages of Gortynia. Check the condition of the roads, especially after heavy rain or snow, since some are unpaved. Late spring and early autumn are the best times to go, when temperatures are mild and the colours of the surrounding hills are at their best.
