Poulithra offers an island-like coastal atmosphere together with the mountain scenery of Parnon, only a short drive from Leonidio.
Poulithra is a coastal village in Arcadia, close to Leonidio, with an island-like feel and the slopes of Mount Parnon behind. Stroll around the houses and harbour, swim at the sheltered beach and stop at one of the small tavernas. It is a short drive from Leonidio, and a good place for a quiet swim and lunch. The village is small and relaxed, with white and stone houses, a few streets and a rocky coastline with small coves. The sea is clear and generally calm, and the beach is simple, with few facilities. In the evening, the tavernas serve fish and local dishes. Poulithra is quieter than Plaka and other more developed spots, which is its charm. Visit in spring or autumn for fewer people and mild weather. Wear water shoes if you plan to swim from the rocks, and bring sun protection. Combine the visit with Leonidio, Plaka and the monastery of Panagia Elona.
About 7 km, according to Visit Peloponnese.
Yes, the village and beach are free to visit.
